Lycoming alumni Raymond ’68 and Wendy ’71 have established the Enstine Internship Match Program in support of Lycoming’s Center for Enhanced Academic Experiences (CEAE), a valuable campus resource that helps students identify and take part in internships. These types of in-depth learning opportunities empower students to develop intellectually, professionally and personally, extending learning beyond the classroom.
The Enstines recognize the value that high-quality internships have in advancing employment opportunities and career aspirations. By partnering with Lycoming College, fellow alumni and friends of the College emphasize this method of learning-by-doing — which provides the ideal balance to and complements Lycoming College’s liberal arts tradition — the Enstines have undertaken one of the leading priorities of the Campaign for a Greater Lycoming to Create the Coveted Degree of the Future.
Typically, named internships are funded with a gift of $5,000. The Enstine Internship Match Program will enable new named internships to be established with a gift of just $2,500, while the remainder is financed by the Enstines for a total gift of $5,000. The internship will be established in the donor’s name and will provide a stipend and/or living expenses — an obstacle for many students in completing beneficial internships.
The Enstine Internship Match Program helps Lycoming College to ensure that all students, regardless of their financial situation, are given access to internships that help launch them from a campus of active learning to the world of meaningful careers. More information on the Enstine Internship Match Program is available by contacting the Office of College Advancement at 570-321-4036.
