Lycoming College's Day of Giving supports students during challenging times

Together, we stepped up to support our students! Even during these uncertain times, the Lycoming community rose to the challenge and Acted BOLDLY on April 22, 2020! Because of the collective generosity of our supporters, Lycoming's Day of Giving will provide critical support to those in our community who need it most. In just 24 hours, 561 donors raised $315,372, proving that no matter what adversities we encounter, together we remain Warrior Strong.

Lycoming College secures additional $500,000 grant from Stabler Foundation

The Donald B. and Dorothy L. Stabler Foundation has awarded a $500,000 grant to Lycoming College in recognition of its exceptional work to attract students of promise and for its commitment to meeting their financial needs. Through generous gifts such as this grant, Lycoming is able to bolster its financial aid offerings and fine-tune admittance practices, more selectively choosing talented students who best fit with the mission of the College, regardless of their financial need.

Lycoming College launches new estate planning website and tools

Lycoming College is pleased to announce the launch of a new website featuring estate and personal planning resources as a benefit to alumni and friends of the institution. The website provides valuable information on a variety of topics including the creation of a last will and testament; tax-efficient ways to provide for your family and/or the charitable causes you are most passionate about; how to create streams of income for retirement; and much more. Articles dealing with personal planning, tips for savvy living, financial news, and reports from Washington will be updated weekly.

Lycoming College dedicates new $12.5 million Krapf Gateway Center

The Krapf Gateway Center, the catalyst of The Campaign for a Greater Lycoming, Lycoming College's most ambitious fundraising initiative in its history, was dedicated on October 25, 2019. Named in recognition of the inspiring philanthropy of Dale Krapf '67, a trustee of Lycoming College, and his brother, Dallas Krapf '13H, the Krapf Gateway Center serves as the new home to the Office of Admissions, Office of Alumni and Advancement, the Center for Enhanced Academic Experiences, and the Outdoor Leadership and Education program.

Lycoming College celebrates more than $79 million in campaign support

The Campaign for a Greater Lycoming was the College's most ambitious fundraising initiative in its history. With a goal to raise at least $65 million, Lycoming challenged its alumni, parents, and friends to Dare to Dream about creating an even greater institution. The Campaign concluded on June 30, 2019, and at an event held during Homecoming & Family Weekend on October 5, the College celebrated its extraordinary success, announcing it had exceeded its initial goal with more than $79 million in total support to the Campaign.

Lycoming College celebrates successful fundraising year with $9.2 million in giving

Lycoming College expresses its sincere gratitude to all who have helped make the 2018-19 fundraising year the most successful in the institution’s history. With the support of more than 4,248 donors, Lycoming received $9.2 million in outright gifts this fiscal year, which ended on June 30, 2019. This is nearly $3 million more than any prior year and marks the fifth consecutive year of setting a new high for outright gifts in a fiscal year.

UPMC Susquehanna Partners with Lycoming College to Support Athletics Facilities

With a history of more than 50 years as a linchpin of Williamsport’s East End sports scene, the all-purpose artificial turf field on the Western edge of the Shangraw Athletic Complex will for the first time carry its own name, as Lycoming College announced that UPMC Susquehanna has secured the naming rights of the field for the next 10 years. As an All-American Corporate Partner of the College, UPMC Susquehanna secures the naming rights for UPMC Field at the Shangraw Athletic Complex.

On Sunday, April 14, Lycoming College hosted its annual Scholarship Day Luncheon in Pennington Lounge on campus with 175 guests in attendance. The event provides students and their families time to celebrate with scholarship donors and express appreciation for the opportunities their generosity has provided — fueling a new generation of Warriors to think deeply and act boldly.

Lycoming College secures $720,000 grant from Stabler Foundation

The Donald B. and Dorothy L. Stabler Foundation has awarded a seventh consecutive grant to Lycoming College, this time in the amount of $720,000, bringing its total giving to the College to $4.22 million. The funds support the Donald B. and Dorothy L. Stabler Endowed Scholarship at Lycoming, which enables dozens of high-promising students to earn a 21st-century liberal arts and sciences education in preparation for meaningful lives and careers.

Lycoming College awarded grant from Arthur Vining Davis Foundations for college-community stormwater partnership

The Arthur Vining Davis Foundations has awarded Lycoming College a $258,000 grant to develop a college-community stormwater partnership model for small urbanized watersheds. The grant will further the capacity of Lycoming College’s Clean Water Institute (CWI) to support urban stormwater management initiatives by community partners, expand the College’s environmental science curriculum, and provide new research and training opportunities to prepare students for a high-demand area in natural resource management.
