Day of Giving Challenges

Lycoming College's Day of Giving is a 24-hour event that encourages alumni, faculty, staff, students, parents, and friends to show their support by making a gift to the College. Gifts will be accepted throughout the day on April 24, 2019.

To participate in one of the challenges listed below, gifts with a minimum of $5 will be counted between 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. EST. Regardless of the time of day, we encourage all to show their collective support to help make Lycoming College even Greater!

Faculty & Staff Challenge

“Do-nut” let this Day of Giving get away from you without making a gift to Lycoming! Stop by Pennington Lounge in the morning before you head off to your classrooms and offices to make your gift and grab a Krispy Kreme donut.

Music Challenge

Lycoming College alumni have been creating beautiful music together for decades on the stages of Clarke Chapel and the Community Arts Center, in churches across the world, and in May 2019, the choir will perform throughout France. When 100 donors designate a gift to music programs, we will unlock an additional $5,000 to support the music department. Now that's music to our ears! This challenge is sponsored by Nancy (Norris) '55 and Larry '57 Swartz.

96 donors participated.

Fraternity & Sorority Challenge

Rally your brothers and sisters to make a gift and the Greek organization with the highest percent participation will win a tailgate at Homecoming & Family Weekend 2019!

54 donors participated, awarding the tailgate to Alpha Sigma Tau.

Scholarships Challenge

Want to help provide scholarships for Lycoming College students so they can earn a 21st-century liberal arts and sciences education? Making a gift on April 24 will stretch your dollars even further by unlocking a matching fund opportunity for scholarships.

$40,800, including matching dollars, was raised for scholarships.

Athletics Challenge

Calling all Warriors! Now’s your chance to score winning points (aka $$$) by making a Warrior Club gift to your favorite team. The athletic program with the highest alumni participation percentage based on its respective alumni base will receive an additional $5,000 for their team. The Athletics Challenge is sponsored by Susquehanna Trailways.

519 donors participated, unlocking $5,000 for Men’s Lacrosse (34.4%).

Center for Enhanced Academic Experiences (CEAE) Challenge

The CEAE demonstrates Lycoming’s commitment to active learning and significant career pathways. With a focus on global education, internships, and student-faculty research collaboration, as well as career advising, the CEAE helps students put the skills they’ve learned into direct practice across a variety of settings. For every $2,500 raised for the CEAE, we’ll unlock a $2,500 named annual scholarship!

$36,578 was raised, unlocking two named annual scholarships.

Parent Challenge

At Lycoming College, we appreciate the support of our Lycoming parents as much as our students do. Your support enables our students to think deeply and act boldly. Double your dollars when you make a gift on April 24 by unlocking a matching fund opportunity to help create an even Greater Lycoming for our students! This match is sponsored by two proud parents of a Lycoming graduate.
