Lycoming College secures $720,000 grant from Stabler Foundation

The Donald B. and Dorothy L. Stabler Foundation has awarded a seventh consecutive grant to Lycoming College, this time in the amount of $720,000, bringing its total giving to the College to $4.22 million. The funds support the Donald B. and Dorothy L. Stabler Endowed Scholarship at Lycoming, which enables dozens of high-promising students to earn a 21st-century liberal arts and sciences education in preparation for meaningful lives and careers.

With generous gifts such as this grant from the Stabler Foundation, Lycoming is able to bolster its financial aid offerings and fine-tune admittance practices, more selectively choosing talented students who best fit with the mission of the College, regardless of their financial need.

"Our ability to continue to offer these prestigious Stabler scholarships at Lycoming College has helped us attract even more talented students to our campus," said Chip Edmonds, executive vice president. "Lycoming remains extraordinarily grateful for the Donald B. and Dorothy L. Stabler Foundation's generosity."

Recipients of the Stabler Endowed Scholarship sign a letter of intent to support the students who follow after them with a commitment to make financial contributions back to their alma mater in the future.

Established in 1966, the Donald B. and Dorothy L. Stabler Foundation awards grants for charitable, religious, scientific, literary, and educational purposes to private educational and other institutions located in central or eastern Pennsylvania.
